Cruises from Fort Lauderdale to St. Kitts

St. Kitts, in the eastern Caribbean, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. As a matter of fact, you can easily get there by taking one of the cruises that depart out of Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale welcomes many cruise ships throughout the year at Port Everglades cruise terminals, offering a wide range of itineraries to St. Kitts. A cruise out of Fort Lauderdale is one of the most popular ways to experience the Caribbean islands. Several of the world’s best-known cruise lines, including Celebrity Cruises, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean, and Viking Cruises, are all based in Fort Lauderdale.

But this coastal South Florida city is a worthy destination in and of itself. It is worth exploring before or after going on a cruise to St. Kitts. Fort Lauderdale is well-known for its beaches, bars and restaurants, shopping, arts, culture, and events. There are also more than 165 miles of canals running through the city, earning it the nickname “Venice of America.” Take in the sights from a new perspective on a tour by water taxi, gondola ride, paddleboard, or even yacht.

So, if you want to relax before or after your cruise to St. Kitts, Fort Lauderdale is the place to be.

St. Kitts and Nevis

Saint Kitts and the neighbouring island of Nevis constitute one country: the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Port Zante is where cruise ship passengers arrive in Basseterre to be greeted by streets full of colourful modern shops selling souvenirs and duty-free goods.  Port Zante is a new sparkling world-class port fronting the largest and most vibrant city on St. Kitts.

Saint Kitts and Nevis are separated by a shallow 3-kilometre (2 mi) channel known as “The Narrows”. Saint Kitts, also known more formally as Saint Christopher Island, and Nevis is a two-island country in the West Indies. The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis combines beaches with beauteous mountains, activities to engage your body and rich history to engage your mind.

The west side of the island borders the Caribbean Sea, and the eastern coast faces the Atlantic Ocean. Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest fortress ever built in the Eastern Caribbean. The island of Saint Kitts is home to the Warner Park Cricket Stadium, which was used to host 2007 Cricket World Cup matches. This made St. Kitts and Nevis the smallest nation to ever host a World Cup event. Saint Kitts is also home to several institutions of higher education, including Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Windsor University School of Medicine, and the University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Florida has the largest selection of cruise deals to St. Kitts.
